Missing

I haven't even begun to write this post and I'm already feeling extremely shameful and guilty. It seems that in the past few months I have been majorly neglecting this blog, the one that I do in fact, love to do. Sometimes I'm one to not stick at things and I really don't want this to become one of them. I can't promise myself from this moment on I'm going to continually upload posts a few times a week since I'm going on holiday tomorrow. 11 days in Cape Verde *does a little happy dance*.

Anyway on to the reasons I haven't updated my blog recently. The number one reason is simply because I really have been lacking on the inspiration front. In my opinion, this blog is simply for me, a hobby and something I love to do in my spare time. I mean, if I get 1,000,000 followers over night that would be pretty brilliant too but ya know. Back to the point ... I don't want to write something that I have no love for as firstly I won't enjoy doing it and secondly anyone reading probably won't enjoy it either. The second reason I haven't updated this blog in the past month is a pretty good and exciting reason. Last week I finished my internship at Look magazine. Suffice to say I had the most amazing 3 weeks of my life. I meant some amazing friends who I hope to stay in contact with, I enjoyed every minute of it and it was a great first move into my dream career. In the past 2 weeks my name has been in the credits of Look, as well as some of the shoots that I assisted on (which was even more amazing than I thought). Below are some pictures of my experience.

A massive thank you to every at Look for all of your help and advice during my internship! Onwards to my next fashion venture!

Anyway, a little goodbye for 12 days until I am back from the sunny heaven that is Cape Verde. Once I am back, apart from job hunting for my dream job at a fashion magazine, my blog is going to be my number 1 priority so be prepared!

This Week's Best Dressed

Chloe Mortez. The name being said by half the teenage girl population. Yes, it has been confirmed she is dating Brooklyn Beckham. Not only that but her fashion has been absolutely on point recently.

She wore this Jonathan Saunders outfit to a press conference last week, looking extremely chic and sophisticated.

Selena Gomez rocked this Saint Laurent jumpsuit with a pair of Mui Mui heels at the teen choice awards last week, it's no surprise Justin Bieber keeps going back.

Now of course my all time favourite style icon has made it on to this weeks best dressed list. As always Vanessa is looking stylish and sexy in this patterned jumpsuit strolling through New York's Time Square.

Another girl who is more often than not seen on the best dressed lists, Olivia Palmero is once again killing it, looking girly and ultimate chic. Ripped denim jeans, check. Colourful heels, check. crisp white collar shirt, check. Beautifully tailored peplum jacket, check. Plus the cute dog of course.

Who are your best dressed of this week?

Flirty Florals

When it comes to summer, florals are a must have in every girls wardrobe. Whether it's a cami, blouse, smart trousers or a dress, you can work this trend no matter what occasion.

After a little 'window shopping' around town, I couldn't help but pick up these two beauties.

Playsuit - £14
Primark

Dress - £17.99 (bargain sale item)
Zara

I bought this dress specifically for my cousins wedding next month as you can't ever go wrong with Zara, let alone a sale item this beautiful!

I love this beautiful hem at the bottom of the dress!

What floral favourites do you have recently? Let me know!

Good News

A little disclaimer before I start this post as I don't want to seem like I am bragging in any way. This news is simply something I am proud of myself for and I think it's an important time of my life to talk about.

Many of you know I have spent the past 3 years at university studying journalism. After weeks and weeks of sleepless nights, ulcers and overall worrying I received my final grades on Monday. Although I can't talk in detail about my dissertation as the subject is about sensitive law material, I was ecstatic to find out I achieved a first. This was a very large achievement for me, like many who take pride in their dissertation (for those who don't know what this is, it's a final 10,000 word essay at the end of your degree), I spent a lot of time and effort into this piece of work and my final grade proved hard work really does pay off. So, not only did I achieve a first in my dissertation but in October I will be graduating with a 2:1 in BA HONS Journalism! *squeals and jumps up and down*

For the rest of my day after receiving my results I sat there for hours on end kind of letting the news sink in. To many people, it may seem a bit silly. I did enjoy university, however at times I doubted myself much more than I should have. My final grades just proved that I really can do anything I set my mind to, and that really is an important lesson to learn. I received multiple texts, phone calls and messages throughout the day from family and friends congratulating me with my Grandma ringing anyone she could think of to brag to!

I spent the evening at dinner with my family and boyfriend celebrating and making the most of a very important day.

My beautiful congratulations flowers from my boyfriend!

All my lovely cards from my family

Finally as the evening came to a close and I was looking forward to finally having a good non-worrying sleep, I found a little present left on the living room table from my Mum and Dad ...

If only there was a picture to show my excitement when I opened this beauty! Not only because of my blogging, but also the career I am going into, it was quite important I had a decent camera. My iPhone is ok, but not idea when you need some better focus and lighting. It's safe to say I have the most amazing parents, family, friends and boyfriend.

A little addition; I am so proud and happy for my Uni friends on my course Shona, Faith and Emma who will also be graduating with a 2:1 in journalism. Also my best friend Laura who will be graduating with a first!

I hope you all will be receiving the results you want!

Black Tied Purchase

I have recently fell in love with a brand that has just come to my attention; Black Tied. They are a UK based jewellery line which sells affordable unique jewellery. I chose the fatima hamsa hand necklace which I have been wearing most days since I bought it.

CFDA Best Dressed

 Best Dressed of the CFDA awards;

The beautiful Blake Lively looks stunning as normal in this chic gold Michael Kors dress.

Dree Hemingway looked incredibly classy in this dress by Diane Von Furstenburg. I love the mix of patterns and fabrics in this floor length gown.

Lupita wearing Suno at the CFDA awards. As per normal Lupita rocks whatever she wears, and she oozes class and style.

Two of my personal style queens; Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Known worldwide for being the most fashionable twins around, they don't disappoint in simple yet classic black gowns.

Rihanna wearing a custom Adam Selman dress. This is the most talked about outfit at the awards, and for good reason. Personally, I'm not a fan. It is undeniable that Rihanna is incredibly beautiful and has an incredible figure. However, I'm one for 'keeping some things for the imagination'. Maybe this outfit could be showing a little less? What do you think?

Summer Florals

With S/S just beginning, the florals are back out in force. Like every Spring, florals are a must have style for the warm summer evenings. Whether it's a day time picnic, lunch/dinner with friends or a party in the evening, this look can be dressed up or down for the perfect outfit.
